Snow Blower

1800 Toro electric Snow thrower

24 Volt DC motor that I will install.

Blank for timing belt pulley. Next to make fly cutter and arbor to cut 18 teeth.

Finished timing belt pulley

Scooter motor mounted on the AC motor plate. Old Licenses plate. A 12 volts seven amp hour and a 12 volt 4 amp hour battery in serial for 24 volts. No load the blade spin well. If there is more snow this season I will borrow the battery from my cordless Lawn mower.

20 amp hour lawnmower battery on the snowblower. Lawn mower motor shown. 5 inches by 5 inches high. Flange has a 6 inch bolt circle. I will make a adapter this summer to use this motor on the snowblower.

Only a dusting last night. I pile snow in front of the snowblower and snow was moved up through the chute. The blade don't spin as fast as with the AC motor, but with the lawn mower motor I expect better performance than with the AC motor.

My Lawn mower motor and battery. I get about one hour of run time from one recharge. Recommend for 1/3 acres, I have almost 1/2 acres. I stop and trim the edges and about four hours of recharge, I can finish.

Blowup of DC motor on Black and Decker 24 volt cordless Lawnmower.

Inside of lawn mower showing original 2-12 volt 20 Ah battery on left and two 35 Ah mounted behind motor. The larger battery moved while changing the blade and shorted the charging electronic. I needed more amp hours to mow my entire .4 acre.

Rather than pay about 100 dollars for the circuit board, I routed the battery terminals to the cover and charge each battery with my smart boat battery charger.
